Grand River Troutfitters Guide Staff

David Tigani -Pro Staff/Guide/Instructor

Dave has been fishing for as long as he has had memories. For over thirty-five of those years, Fly-fishing has been a prominent part of his outdoor experience. Being self-taught, Dave understands the questions and concerns of those wanting to advance their skills and is eager to share what he has learned. An awesome addition to our team and his home made furled leaders really work!

Ken Collins -Pro Staff/Boat/Guide/Instructor

Ken, the owner of Grand River Troutfitters, has been fishing with a fly since a teacher introduced him to the sport when he was 11. Ontario's first Fly-fishing Federation-certified instructor, an expert in every aspect of the sport, well-travelled and a bundle of energy. Ken's greatest strength is his ability to pass on his knowledge, whether it's to a novice or an experienced angler.

Larry McGratton -Pro Staff/Boat/Guide/Instructor

Larry is a fine guide instructor and very involved in the well-being of the river. Just ask him how many hours he volunteers a year for this river.

Seldom have his clients gone away without a fish and never have they gone away unhappy. Larry is one of our best clients, his collection of rods should be used as our overstock!

Larry Mellors -Pro Staff/Guide/Instructor

Larry has been fishing since the age of 3 and built his first fly rod at the age of 12. Larry\'s fishing obsession came honestly as his father was referred to as \"S. Ontario\'s Rainbow Trout King\" during the 50\'s and 60\'s by the Ontario outdoor media of the time. He has spent the past 25 years as a dedicated volunteer educating the public, especially school children, in regards to improving stream habitat. Larry is the recipient o many national and provincial conservation awards. Teaching fly tying for the past 20 years has made Larry very competent at the vise.

Rocky Collins -Prostaff/boat/Guide/Instructor

Even though Rocky has walked just above every stream here in Southern Ontario and all customers love him. I do not recommend him as a guide. He is far too easily distracted by anything that moves.

Sandy Root -Pro Staff Head Womens Instructor

Sandy's passion is the outdoors and more importantly the teaching of it to our younger generations. Her love for Fly-fishing, having fun, people and her desire to teach made her a perfect fit for the Troutfitter Team. See her successful business Down To Earth that is committed to providing creative, educational, innovative workshops & outdoor sessions for schools and private organizations

Steve May -Pro Staff/Guide/Instructor

Steve enjoys teaching people how to catch any fish that will eat flies, but he has a soft spot for smallmouth bass. An innovative commercial fly-tyer, he\'s had flies pictured in mainstream fly-fishing magazines and writes a fly-fishing column in Real Fishing. Look for Steve\'s Grand River patterns, streamers, frogs and perch imitations at Troutfitters.
