There are other magnetic releases but honestly they are not as well thought out as this complete kit. All other components are non ferrous - they do not foul up the magnets mission - which is to snap instantly your net back into place behind your neck on the net ring of your vest. The carabineer allows for easy quick disconnect of net and release from vest for safe transport. The plastic snap allows for net sharing on the river. Anglers buy others and then buy this one.
