This Kit comes complete with step by step instructions and enough materials, hooks to tie 20 full motion crayfish - we also always include the right spool of thread. See colour called parts for the picture of ingredients. This pattern is a Troutfitter exclusive - it took us years to develope and perfect. We are very proud of this fly and its ability to fool just about any fish that uses fins to swim the waters they call home.
If I could only try to tell you how long it took to develope and perfect this fly. This fly has actually been lake tested with a snorkel and a pair of fins. My in laws cottage has a perfect bass shoal right off the end of the dock. First I would feed some bass some live crayfish I harvested from the same shoal. Then Jen (my wife) would make casts with different retrieves while I watched fly action and bass behavior of those actions. It was found that head up defensive crayfish posturing was key for fish follow and strike. Full motion Cray does exactly this movement with the added bonus hook point rides up reducing the amount of fly snagging up on rocky bottoms.
